MochaBlend Basics #1: Getting Started

Image not available

This introductory tutorial will explain MochaBlend-C4D's panel, and some general concepts about the workflow inside Cinema 4D. You will learn how the integrated camera-rig works, and how to import some tracking data from mocha and display it on the camera-rig. Duration 9:49

MochaBlend Basics #2: Non-Perspective Track to 3D Motion

Image not available

In this tutorial, you'll learn about creating 3D motion from a non-perspective track in mocha. We'll be using MochaBlend-C4D's 2.5D solver to create the 3D motion. You'll learn how to analyze the motion in your shot so you can both track it properly in mocha, and choose the correct solver in MochaBlend-C4D. Duration 8:15

MochaBlend Basics #3: Perspective Track to Object Solve

Image not available

In this tutorial, you'll learn how to use MochaBlend-C4D to turn a perspective track in mocha into an object solve in C4D. You'll learn the best way to track a plane in mocha for MochaBlend's Perspective-Solver, and how to identify some common problems when working with the solver. Duration 15:35

MochaBlend Basics #4: Perspective Track to Camera Solve

Image not available

In this tutorial, you'll learn how to use MochaBlend-C4D to turn a perspective track in mocha into a camera solve in C4D. In this tutorial the tracked plane is never facing directly at the camera at any point in the shot. As a result, we'll need to set MochaBlend's solver geometry ourselves in MochaBlend's 'Geometry Editor'. Duration 09:21

MochaBlend Basics #5: Working with Roto - Part 1

Image not available

In part 1 of this tutorial, you'll learn how to use MochaBlend-C4D to turn roto-shapes from mocha into various types of splines in C4D. This lays the groundwork for part 2, where we'll use MochaBlend-C4D's 'Camera Map Editor'. Duration 13:00

MochaBlend Basics #5: Working with Roto - Part 2

Image not available

In part 2 of this tutorial, you'll learn how to use MochaBlend-C4D's 'Camera Map Editor' to turn a mocha roto-shape and its linked-track into a 3D object in C4D that moves in 3D space just like the original object moved in the real world. You'll also learn how to keyframe the motion of a roto-layer if you don't have a good track in mocha, and how to add depth and rotation to the layer. Duration 14:49

MochaBlend Basics #6: Using the ‘Align’ tools

Image not available

In this tutorial, you'll learn how to use MochaBlend-C4D's advanced 'Align' tools to place your rig into various positions relative to: the C4D ground-plane; objects in your document; sub-parts (vertices, edges, and faces) of objects; and the selected tracking data object. Duration 8:18

MochaBlend-C4D Project #1: 'Pencil & Cube'

Image not available

Here is a finished shot that illustrates what can be done by tracking some motion in mocha, converting it to a 3D path with MochaBlend-C4D, and linking the motion-path to a polygon vertex. An animated shadow-caster of the hand and pencil was created from mocha roto and projected onto the motion-path. This allows you to cast real 3D shadows upon 3D geometry inside C4D. You just can't fake shadows like these! Duration 0:38

MochaBlend-C4D Project #1: 'Pencil & Cube' Breakdown

Here is the breakdown of the 'Pencil & Cube' finished shot. Pay attention to how to create the ghost shadow of the pencil that isn't even in parts of the video. I guess now you can fake shadows like these. Duration 2:37

MochaBlend-C4D Project #1: 'Pencil & Cube' Tutorial - Part 1

Image not available

In part 1 of this tutorial, we'll go step by step with the 'Pencil & Cube' shot from roto'ing in mocha, to linking the polygon vertex to the 3D motion-path. You'll learn why you should avoid using mocha's 'Adjust Track' module to correct the blue 'Surface' rectangle when you export to MochaBlend-C4D's solver. In part 2, you'll learn how to correct that 'Surface' drift in a simple shot like this, and how to create those cool shadows from mocha roto. Duration 15:37
